Wade O. Brown

His voice is eloquent, his riffs smooth and the lyrics are persuasive – that about sums it up for this upcoming Groove United Entertainment singer/songwriter/keyboardist from Detroit. On February 13 at the Revival Music Lounge the launch party for Brown’s US debut album All Night, All Love kicked-off nicely. Media and patrons packed the room and the anticipation was large for the Valentine’s Day pre-event.

Finally, a little late, its showtime – stage lights come on, the band appears and Wade steps on stage in a cool white suit. The performance begins and it becomes evident that this lead vocalist knows how to woo the girls. (It’s always a good sign when the females smile, sigh and squirm.) Brown kept the room sizzling for the whole performance and all songs were powerfully delivered. My conclusion – this R&B crooner is very much a real soul man and his tone is in the same arena as the infamous lover boy Luther Vandross.

For this CD, Brown collaborated with a list of top American songwriter/producers heavyweights –Steve Estiverne, (Jennifer Lopez, Joe and Tyrese), Daryl Simmons (Destiny’s Child, Babyface, Pink), Barry Eastmond (Anita Baker, Whitney Houston), Kipper Jones (Brandy, Vanessa Williams) to name a few. My advice is if you are in need of a soundtrack for an intimate and romantic evening – go no further. This album won’t disappoint.

And don’t underestimate this rising star. Brown has already performed with Aretha Franklin, Quincy Jones, Roger Troutman, Glenn Lewis, and Joe, among others. He has also had a guest appearance on the hit HBO TV show Soul Food, co-starred in several Toronto-based theatrical productions and has performed live on MuchMusic and other networks across Canada.

CD available in stores now.
