Details: The Underground Comedy Railroad returns for its 14th year with the Black Excellence Tour featuring three public shows in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal, five shows on the QC/ON college circuit, plus free comedy classes in Montreal. Celebrates the accomplishments of stand up comedians at the core of The Underground Comedy Railroad, an annual tour that has traveled across Canada for Black History Month since 2012.
Beginning February 2 in Montreal, The Underground Comedy Railroad will hit the road with Black comedians from across Canada including tour co-founders Rodney Ramsey and Daniel Woodrow, plus Tamara Shevon, Keesha Brownie, Chris Robinson, Natasha Lyn Myles, Serge Nkusi, Kerby Darius, and more. On February 15 the tour will present the second annual Black Valentine’s at Comedy Bar in Toronto, a special night of lovely comedy for couples and the consciously uncoupled.
Each year The Underground Comedy Railroad presents a solid roster of Black comedians who have grown up on this tour to become some of the best acts in the country. The Black Excellence Tour will celebrate: the launch of Rodney Ramsey’s comedy class Joke Club with a free class online on February 18 and in Montreal on February 21; the public release of Daniel Woodrow’s debut comedy album “My Family Is White” on March 1 with Comedy Records after an exclusive airing for the month of February on SiriusXM Comedy Club Channel 168; the release of Tamara Shevon’s third comedy album in 2025 and upcoming special in 2026; and Keesha Brownie’s appearance in Crave’s 2025 documentary ‘People of Comedy’. These artists have continued to evolve as actors, writers, teachers, and producers who support the next generation of comedians.
