Details: Whiskey Jack is a Toronto-based band that has been performing country, roots and bluegrass music across North America since 1977. As a regular backing band for Stompin’ Tom Connors from 1993 to his death, they are now touring with their new show, Whiskey Jack Presents Stories & Songs of Stompin’ Tom featuring highlights from years of touring together and the stories that were born on those tours. Current Ontario tour dates include Timmins, Oshawa, Alliston, Sutton, Maryhill and Toronto.

Canadian Country Music Award nominees, Whiskey Jack have appeared at festivals and in concert from coast-to-coast; starred on The Tommy Hunter Show for five years in the 1980s; recorded with the likes of Nashville legend Mac Wiseman and world-famous fiddle player Graham Townsend; then hooked-up with Stompin’ Tom Connors in 1993 to record Dr. Stompin’ Tom . . .Eh?  Their collaboration took them on a national tour culminating in a sold-out show at Massey Hall, an unprecedented performance on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, and a 20-year relationship.

On Wednesday, October 19 at Lula Lounge, the Toronto premiere of Whiskey Jack Presents Stories & Songs of Stompin’ Tom will also mark the re-release of Dr. Stompin’ Tom . . .Eh? on the Universal Music label.  The show includes performances of “Margo’s Cargo,” “Gumboot Cloggeroo,” “Bud The Spud,” and more! As a matter of fact, one of Stompin’ Tom’s more unusual contract clauses stated that the band had to perform some of Tom’s age-old songs at every one of their shows. Whiskey Jack’s contemporary take on Stompin’ Tom’s classics turn each song into a highly polished and honest Canadian story for modern audiences.

Whiskey Jack is Duncan Fremlin (Banjo), Bob McNiven (Guitar), Eric Jackson (Double Bass), Howard Willett, (Vocalist, Harmonica), Randy Morrison (Fiddle), Jen Cook (Vocalist), and Al Cross (Drums).
