In an effort to address child hunger, Nina Dobrev, star of Vampire Diaries, has collaborated with Me To We Style to create the Hunger Bites T-Shirt. This eco-chic pink, white and black tee is 100% Canadian made, sweatshop-free and made from organic cotton.
Until October 31, $10 from each purchase of a Hunger Bites tee supports Free The Children’s short and long-term efforts to support families in East Africa who have been affected by the worst drought in 60 years. $10 feeds one person for a month in East Africa.
“Having been to Kenya myself, I’ve seen the effects of hunger firsthand. It’s a serious issue both domestically and internationally that I’m very passionate about,” said Nina Dobrev. “No one should go hungry, and that’s why I’ve teamed up with Me to We Style to design the Hunger Bites T-shirt to give everyone the chance to help fight hunger and wear their support in style.”
By purchasing this limited edition item, one is making a sustainable and ethically conscious choice while also joining thousands who are taking direct action towards ending hunger, because let’s face it—hunger bites.
This T-shirt launch also coincides with Free The Children’s Halloween For Hunger Campaign – an initiative that raises awareness of both local and domestic hunger issues and encourages kids to trick or treat for non perishable items to donate to their local food bank. In March 2010, more than 800,000 Canadians turned to their local food bank for a meal—the highest level of food bank use on record.
Nina Dobrev’s Hunger Bites T-shirt is currently available for purchase online at www.metowestyle.com and at the Me To We Store (223 Carlton Street, Toronto).
Note: Half of all of Me to We Style’s net profits go directly to international children’s charity Free The Children.
