Afrofest Celebrates 25th Anniversary with NXNE

Details: Music Africa and North by Northeast (NXNE) celebrate the 25th anniversary of Afrofest.  The concert, featuring African music, will begin with a performance by Njacko Backo (Cameroon) at 8 pm followed by Tich Maredza Band (Zimbabwe) at 9pm then, Madagascar Slim (Madagascar) at 10pm, Foly Asiko (Nigeria) at 11pm and finally Trinity (Botswana) at midnight, with additional music by DJ Biggy throughout the night.

Afrofest 2013 takes place July 6 & 7 and returns to Woodbine Park. The festival is a chance to discover Africa in the heart of Toronto. It showcases the rich and diverse African culture through music, dance, drumming and theater, with both international and local bands. Held annually since 1989, Afrofest is the African event of the summer!
